What’s our approach and why are our results so strong?

Our students benefit from the depth and breadth of industry engagement opportunities provided throughout their studies; we are part of Pearson PLC, a global education company and the only FTSE 100 company to offer degrees in the UK. As a result, our students are immersed in a professional setting.

Students get many opportunities to develop the kind of skills that are attractive to employers including through participation in a range of industry days with companies such as Global Accounting Firm BDO UK LLP, Pearson PLC, IBM, and Unilever. We regularly welcome business leaders and professionals onto our state-of-the-art campus in central London too to deliver inspiring talks, past speakers have included Eamonn Butler - Head of Animation (Cinesite), Ema Saunders - HR Director (Savills), Francesca Adams - Storyboarding Artist (Bluezoo), Richard Huntington - Chairman & Chief Strategy Officer (Saatchi & Saatchi), Billy Butler - Lead Modeller (Framestore) and Jack Green - World Olympic 400m champion.

Each degree programme is also designed, developed and delivered with industry, to give students the best possible chance of career success. Our Escape Studios undergraduate degrees team received a Collaborative Award for Teaching Excellence (CATE) finalist certificate recognising their collaboration with industry to develop the programmes for the benefit of students who are now benefiting from the innovative approach to course development.

We have close relationships with an impressive array of organisations both in the UK and beyond. Our students discover not only academic knowledge, but how to put that knowledge into practice, in the real world of work.

Full-time students within Pearson Business School are guaranteed at least one internship during their studies4. By graduation, our students are highly attractive to employers and are equipped with the skills to shine in the workplace. Students have undertaken internships with a range of companies including Salesforce, Magnet Me, Direct Line Group and Pearson English.

Alumna Sarah Crosley secured her dream job after successfully applying for a graduate scheme

She currently works as an Assistant Brand Manager for Nestlé, working on the Aero brand

"I loved studying at Pearson Business School and being part of something new and different. Studying there really got me to a place that I want to be and I met people that will be friends for life."

Alumnus Kevin Nyatoro became a Sales Excellence Business Analyst at Microsoft

"My internships set me off on the right path to where I am today. Pearson Business School does this wonderful thing of helping you realise you can be more. They offer you challenges, tools to face those challenges and show you how to make the first step."

Benjamin Britton is a Junior Consultant at Sopra Steria

“Pearson College London gave me the space to amass a comprehensive working knowledge for various components within a business. But crucially it enabled me to identify those which above all others made my heart sing. I then focused my academic studies around these elements of intense interest to where possible, such as in my Self Managed Learning paper on IBM. This acted as a powerful launch pad to discuss my learning experiences and wisdom during graduate scheme applications, with fruitful success!”

Jack Preston joined the Technology Graduate Scheme at notonthehighstreet.com

“Pearson College London has given me a solid understanding of the fundamentals of how businesses operate. Understanding different priorities, backgrounds, approaches and methodologies has proven to be incredibly valuable almost every day, when working with a variety of people both within notonthehighstreet.com and externally. Simply put, Pearson College London has taught me how to effectively add value by understanding what matters in modern businesses.”

Who are our employer partners?

Pearson Business School industry partners include: Direct Line Group, Unilever, Transport for London (TfL), IBM, WPP, L’Oreal and many more.

Escape Studios industry partners include: Framestore, MPC, Peerless, Blue Zoo, Creative Assembly and Double Negative.

Principal, Roxanne Stockwell, was pleased with the DLHE results and believes that collaborating regularly with industry and academics is critical to the institution as it moves forward. Roxanne commented: "At Pearson College London, we believe in challenging students to really help them develop intellectually and professionally. That is not an easy path, but we think it is the right way to push students to achieve their potential. What matters to us is preparing students to handle an increasingly competitive and uncertain working environment, not giving them an easy ride and prioritising short term satisfaction. Our first set of results is encouraging and this also sets the scene for our new students joining us from this September, as a reminder that while they are just starting on their journey, the hard work they put in over the course of their time studying with us, should really pay off."

Frances Trought, Deputy Vice Principal (Talent Development), commented: "We strive to equip our students with the necessary knowledge, employability skills, and confidence to enable them to succeed in their chosen fields. Each student receives one-to-one career coaching and support from their very first day; we help them network with recruiters and professionals, find internships, work placements and much more."
