PRO

Our PRO events are great for industry professionals to understand and learn more about the ever-changing industry.

At a time when Britain’s young talent should be embarking on an exciting new stage of their professional lives, they find themselves in a fiercely competitive, confusing and uncertain jobs market.
New jobs are started from bedrooms; they have no immediate prospect of meeting colleagues and are required to develop critical work habits and behaviours virtually.

These 4 webinars follow the success of the ‘Leading in a Crisis’ series that Pearson College London ran for the NHS in May 2020.
Each webinar addresses a different challenge; recruiting, onboarding, managing and exiting young talent in an increasingly virtual world.

Britain’s Got (young) Talent! Employ, Engage and Exit young talent in a crisis.

Business is far from usual. In a remote world brought about by the pandemic, how do you effectively attract, recruit and select the best diverse young talent for your organisation? In a fiercely competitive jobs market, there is a risk that only the highest and most confident achievers will get noticed, leaving untapped potential to lose faith in how they can succeed. As Generation Z begins to enter the workplace, businesses have been challenged to shift the direction of young talent recruitment. Our panel will discuss ways to ensure your current recruitment techniques and strategies attract the very best diverse young talent.

Exiting young talent in a crisis: the harsh reality

Furloughing and redundancies are unfortunately now the norm in many sectors. For our young talent facing unemployment, this can be challenging to navigate. Faced with the exit process and needing to understand their rights, whilst simultaneously dealing with significant life changes and entering a fiercely competitive jobs market. Our young talent has different needs; neither their resilience nor their professional support network is as developed as those more experienced. How do we ensure that we exit young talent in the best way so they're set up for success not failure? What are the key considerations and how can we support them?

Note: this session will contain a short panel discussion followed by facilitated breakout sessions.
