How did studying at Escape Studios help you into the world of VFX?

It gave me the resources and information needed to produce a Showreel. The support from teachers and staff was essential and superb in supporting me to achieve this goal.

Where do you currently work and what are you working on at the moment?

Dneg - Feature Animation department, working as a modeller. Specifically helping to model characters costumes using Marvelous Designer as a tool to create realistic patterns that work as UV's. This then benefits CFX later down the pipeline. Dneg is big and at first overwhelming, however I started as a runner so you are thrown into it and assimilated quickly. It's a friendly place where almost everyone is happy to help!

At the moment I am working on an upcoming Animated movie set to be released in 2020

What’s your favourite movie and why?

Narnia - It may be old but it has always been a favourite. I love anything where real life meets fairy tales (and CGI)!

What work are you most proud of working on and what is your most notable achievement?

At Escape Studios my proudest piece was a Vespa bike which I modelled and surfaced. I included this in my showreel.

If you had to sum up your time at Escape Studios in one word what would it be and why?

Eye-opening. VFX was an entirely new world to me - Escape studios completely immersed me into it.

What is your advice for those considering entering the industry?

Stay focused, and get your Showreel done in good time. Make sure you choose the right time of the year to apply for jobs in avoiding uni graduation periods.

What course did you study?
