I have worked on TV series and movies. I did some prep stuff such as keying and removal, and lately, I got the chance to do comp.

What work are you most proud of working on and what is your most notable achievement?

I recently worked on a movie called "Airpocalypse". It was aired 2D and IMAX in China on 21st December 2018. It is my first movie project since I left Escape. I started to work on small parts in the beginning of the project and ended up involved in more and more important and challenging scenes and it is very exciting to see the results.

If you had to sum up your time at Escape Studios in one word, what would it be and why?

Exciting. I got to learn a lot of things at Escape. My mentor was always guiding me when I was having difficulties in my studies. I learned new things everyday and it was fun to know friends from different countries.

What is it like to work as a Junior Compositor?

It is challenging and exciting at the same time. I learn new things everyday. For me, prep is the most challenging part, I have to catch all the details of the shot fast and it has to be perfect before I send it to the comp side.

What do you find most exciting about working in the creative industry?

The exciting part is that I get the freedom to create my ideas inside the comp. Is like a magician, we create something entertaining and magical results to the audience and made the audience happy.

How did studying at Escape Studios help you into the world of animation? / prepare you for this role?

I gained more confidence at Escape to help me in what I'm doing now.

What is your advice for those considering entering the industry?

Keep practicing and sharpen your skills, there are always different types of challenges everyday.

What is your favourite film that you have worked on?

Actually, my favorite film that I worked on also is "Airpocalypse".  I got the chance to animate and comp a CG doll in the whole doll sequence and also got the freedom to do some lightning effects in the comp.

What’s your favourite animation and why?

I actually love "Spirited Away" by Hayao Miyazaki. I love the character Chihiro. She's like an ordinary person just like me but through the movie, you can see her changing from a timid girl to a brave one who wants to save her parents.
