The Art of Computer Animation (2D Pathway)

We're so excited to launch a brand new 2D Animation pathway for our BA (Hons)/MArt The Art of Computer Animation programme.

The Animation industry is expanding. In recent years 2D Animation has experienced a significant revival, both in the UK and overseas, as studios including Blue Zoo, Aardman Animation, and Brown Bag Films adopt new software such as ToonBoom Harmony.  

The industry demand for more 2D Animators in recent years has been phenomenal. We are therefore delighted to help develop future talent in this exciting area through our new 2D pathway.

We're expanding our 2D Animation capacity using digital tools such as ToonBoom Harmony, Adobe Animate and Blender.

Key elements of the 2D Animation pathway will include:

• new specialist modules in years two and three, focusing more on traditional drawing skills and how to leverage them with new digital tools
• increased use of ToonBoom Harmony (increasingly the dominant 2D software in the Animation industry)
  
• access to Maya, Adobe Animate, Blender and all other industry-standard software usually available to Escape Studios students.
