Cajiten D’Silva

Cajiten is a lecturer in Economics and module leader for the following modules: Introduction to Business Economics, Evolution of Global Economies, Transnational Economics and Financial Markets and Sustainability and Purposeful Business. With an MA in Development Studies from the University of East Anglia, Cajiten has extensive teaching experience and has worked in several universities both in the UK and overseas.

Cajiten has worked extensively with secondary schools and FE colleges looking to develop partnerships and improve the link and the transition between HE and post 16 education sectors. Before he joined in 2016, Cajiten was an Academic Quality Consultant at City of London College. He has over 40 years' experience teaching including 10 years at the International Association of Bookkeepers and Institute of Financial Accountants where he was a Curriculum Consultant helping to develop a submission for QCA accreditation of professional awards. Cajiten worked for BTEC and Edexcel as a Lead Examiner in the development and quality assurance of Higher National Diplomas.

In the early 1980’s he developed with a group of universities the idea on compact arrangements to facilitate progression between schools and colleges thereby facilitating ‘widening participation’ among groups in the student cohort who would not have considered entering HE.

Recent Activity

Cajiten has spent the last 2 years helping to develop a new private company which is looking at delivering on-line access education for learners wishing to enter HE. In April 2022, he also received the Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy.
