Caroline Collins

Caroline is a lecturer in Criminal Law and is currently also teaching on the Research Project Module. With an Honours degree in Law, and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education. Caroline also studied Effective Online Tutoring, an online intensive course, at Oxford University. Caroline is a member of the Criminal Law Discussion Group, at Oxford University.

Caroline has extensive teaching experience. She has also organised, and supported students mooting in competitions, domestically, and internationally, in Minsk, Belarus, where her team were runners-up.

Caroline has worked in several universities in the United Kingdom and has research experience, having written a chapter of an edited collection for Routledge Publishers, on online fraud. Caroline has given conference papers and poster presentations. Caroline was nominated for a King’s Education Award, King’s College, London, in 2020. She was also nominated for an Excellence in Teaching Award, King’s College, London, in June 2018, in the categories of: Innovation in Teaching, Sustained Excellence.

Amongst her recent posts, Caroline has spent the last six years working as a Visiting Lecturer in Criminal Law at King’s College, London. For the last three years Caroline has also taught Criminal Evidence as a Visiting Lecturer, at Birkbeck College, London. Caroline has very recently been appointed as a Lecturer in Law, (Teaching) at University College London.

  • June 2019: Poster presentation, King’s Academy,13th Excellence in Teaching Conference, King’s College, use of online technologies in teaching.
  • June 2018: Poster presentation, King’s Academy,12th Excellence in Teaching Conference, King’s College, London, on live online teaching.
  • January 2017: Presented her research at the University of Worcester School of Law conference on the Fraud Act 2006, 10 years on. Culminating in the publication of her co-written book chapter, below.

Caroline also has a keen interest in legal education, and effective and novel teaching methods.
