Yulien Tso

Yulien teaches compositing for undergraduate VFX courses. She is no stranger to Escape having taught and helped to develop the compositing short courses back in 2013/14.

Yulien's career started in graphic design. She has worked in the VFX industry for 17 years, as a compositor for 14 years and a Nuke demo artist and trainer for 3 years. She has worked at major facilities like Framestore, Cinesite, MPC, and Zoic Studios, in Los Angeles and London. Her compositing experience spans film, commercials, episodic TV, and VR projects. Her film credits include the award-winning Life of Pi, World War Z and John Carter in more recent years, going back to Cutthroat Island, Beloved and That Thing You Do in the 1990's.

Just before rejoining Escape/Pearson Yulien worked in Los Angeles as a compositor on major advertising campaigns such as Chevy, Ford, and Geico; TV episodes such as Legion, The Good Place, and Once Upon a Time; and VR projects such as the Facebook short "Union Station" and other VR game cinematics.

While working as a Nuke demo artist and trainer, Yulien traveled extensively in Asia demonstrating Nuke at post production companies and conventions, and trained professionals at numerous studios.
