  • Escape Studios announces UK’s first MA degree in Storyboarding and Pre-visualisation

    The industry’s first Storyboarding and Pre-Vis master’s degree course, developed with mentors Blue Zoo and The Third Floor, is launching in November 2019.

    Escape Studios has been offering short courses and postgraduate degrees since 2002 and now they’re launching the industry’s first specialised Storyboarding and Pre-visualisation master’s degree programme. The one-year, full-time MA programme was developed in collaboration with industry mentors including Blue Zoo Animation Studio and The Third Floor, and will provide students with a unique opportunity to learn industry-level skills while earning an internationally recognised academic qualification.

  • Escape Studios Student Project, Home Sweet Home, Wins at the British Animation Film Festival

    Home Sweet Home is a third year student project about a group of sweets that get lost and try to make their way back to the sweet shop. The short film, Home Sweet Home, directed by students Maria Robertson, co-directed by Harry Pearson and produced by Maddison Gould, won against tough international competition to take home the top prize from the recent British Animation Film Festival for Best Student Animation.

  • Student BAFTA Awards 2019 - Escape Studios student work makes the shortlist!

    Congratulations to the makers of the animated short film "Jericho" as it has been selected for a 2019 Student BAFTA award. The short film is about a lonely robot that searches for pieces to build a mechanical friend.   The BAFTA Student Film Awards are an annual event celebrating the works of the next generation of talented and innovative filmmakers from around the globe. Three finalists will be chosen from the shortlist in each category, following 3 further rounds of voting by BAFTA members.

  • Escape Studios Game Jam 2019

    The annual Escape Studios Game Jam is back! Now in its 4th year, the Game jam takes place over a weekend and students have just 2 days to create a game from scratch. The Game Jam was set up to drive collaboration with Escape Studios students, video game enthusiasts and a number of industry experts. The event is also a key opportunity to give back to the games and wider CG community by helping to promote creativity through video games. It is also a great opportunity for students to build new friendships, increase their self confidence and learn effective team skills.

  • “Home Sweet Home” has been selected for The London International Student Film Festival

    Congratulations to the makers of the animated short "Home Sweet Home". The short animation film has been selected for the animation category of The London International Student Film Festival, taking place at the Close Up Film Centre in Shoreditch on Thursday 11th April at 6pm. The LISFF is an annual film festival that takes place in London, and aims to provide a showcase for new filmmakers’ work.
