Epic Games, the creator of Fortnite, Unreal, Gears of War, Shadow Complex, and the Infinity Blade series of games will be hosting two full day workshops on their Unreal Engine technology at our 190 High Holborn campus today. These sold out events will be delivered by the experts at Epic Games and will help attendees learn more about how today’s cutting-edge creative teams are using Unreal Engine, the software that is helping to revolutionize the film and TV productions of tomorrow.
The first workshop is a one-day event on Unreal Engine Primer for technical artists and will be run by Marien El Alaoui, Epic Games Technical Artist.
This introductory level hands-on workshop is intended as a gateway for CG artists to gain new skills with Unreal Engine and to learn to create a simple real-time interactive project. Topics will include:
- Unreal Engine Basics
- Importing Assets
- Materials and Textures
- Lighting for Real Time
The second workshop is for learning intermediate techniques for animation and cinematics and this will be run by David Hibbitts, Media & Entertainment Technical Account Manager at Epic Games.
This 3-part workshop is intended to empower experienced animators with Unreal Engine concepts and techniques used in animation and cinematics workflows. Sessions will include:
- Unreal Engine Case Studies
- Live Link in Unreal Engine: Maya, MotionBuilder and Beyond
- Sequencer Training and World Setup for Cinematic Shot Production
Real-time production techniques are driving bold new innovations in the media & entertainment industry and this exciting event is set to inspire and inform everyone from beginners to intermediate users of Unreal Engine.
