12 members of Escape Studios’ alumni community (dubbed ‘Escapees’) were involved in the visual effects production on the multi-award winning film, Black Panther.
The film adds the BAFTA for Special Visual Effects award to the 3 previous awards it has won during the last year including: Critics' Choice Movie Awards, MTV's Video Music Awards, and the Satellite Awards. Black Panther is an example of great filmmaking and all of the elements including visionary director, great cast and costume design have helped make it into a huge success.
The 72nd BAFTA Awards took place at the Royal Albert Hall in London, on Sunday 10th February 2019 and the award was accepted by the VFX Supervisors: Geoffrey Baumann, Jesse James Chisholm, Craig Hammack and Dan Sudick. Black Panther is the 9th highest grossing film of all time with a budget of $200-210 million and box office sales of $1.347 billion. Black Panther beat out “Avengers: Infinity War”, “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald”, “First Man” and “Ready Player One”.
