The Production Excellence rankings concentrate on teamwork that produces the very best in their field, something that Escape Studios specialises in and an essential area that the industry values highly – creativity at the highest level is a team sport. In Visual Effects & Animation Escape Studios is ranked 5th in the world and in Games Design and Development 10th, being 2nd in the UK for both categories.

Dr Ian Palmer, Dean of Escape Studios said: “The Rookies Rankings is one of the most trusted independent sources of information, as these are driven by student work, so it’s an incredible achievement to be placed among the world’s best institutions. I’m delighted about this international recognition here at Escape Studios and we’re extremely grateful to our fantastic tutors, students and alumni.”

The Rookies has been ranking creative media and entertainment schools since 2009 with the goal of helping aspiring artists find trusted schools to help them forge successful careers in creative fields. This year they received 3,769 portfolios from students that attended over 500 schools and colleges around the world, which is the basis for their annual education ranking system.

Escape Studios offer undergraduate, postgraduate and short courses in Visual Effects (VFX), Game Art, Animation and Motion Graphics. Escape works with a wide list of industry partners to design and deliver its courses, from MPC, DNEG, Cinesite, Framestore and The Mill, through to Jellyfish Pictures, Milk and BlueBolt, to name just a few.
