Escape Studios has been shortlisted for Best Educational Institution in the 2021 TIGA UK Games Industry Awards, in recognition of its success in graduate recruitment, industry engagement and innovative teaching.
TIGA is the trade association for the UK video games industry, with the vision to make the UK the best place in the world to develop video games. Escape Studios is a member of TIGA and is aligned with its links to industry - courses are designed and delivered in collaboration alongside its leading industry partners.
Games Art courses at Escape Studios are designed to train students in the latest software such as Unreal Engine, Maya and Substance. In the last year, professionals from companies such as Creative Assembly, PlayStation London Studio, Climax, State of Play and Rebellion have either presented to students or even assessed their coursework, giving a rich insight into the industry. Additionally, a unique partnership with Epic Games means students are based in the UK’s only Unreal Authorized Training Center.
Simon Fenton, Head of Games, at Escape Studios, said: “We’re delighted to be shortlisted for this fantastic award, alongside some of the UK’s leading institutions that specialise in video games. Our tutors are all experts in their field and have been hand-picked from some of the most successful studios, so our students really do learn from the best.”
Dr Richard Wilson OBE, TIGA CEO, said: “Congratulations to all the fantastic finalists of the TIGA UK Games Industry Awards 2021. We look forward to revealing our winners on 25th November 2021.”
