Escape Studios students shortlisted in Grads in Games industry challenge

Grads in Games has announced the finalists for their ‘Search for a Star’ and ‘One to Watch’ challenges and five Escape Studios students have featured in the shortlist.

The Grads in Games ‘Search for a Star’ challenge, produced in partnership with award-winning studios including Sumo Digital, D3t and DPS Games, aims to support students who aspire to pursue careers in games development.

Open to final year or master course students in the UK and Europe, the aspiring creatives were invited to create their own art for the chance to secure job interviews, hardware and software from games giants.

The challenge contained five categories in games programming, 3D character art, 3D environment art, 3D animation, and VFX. Escape Studios students had been shortlisted for the following:

  • Games VFX 2021 - Laura Higgins
  • Environment Art 2021 - Alice Hughes
  • Character Art 2021 - Tadas Sadauskas

Two further Escape Studios students were also finalists in the ‘One to Watch’ challenge Environment Art category:

  • Jasmine Allan
  • Matt Humphrey

Ian Palmer, Dean of Escape Studios said: “We’re delighted to see our students being commended for their hard work and dedication.
