It is said that we will experience more change in the next ten years than in the previous 200. We are living in a time of unrivalled innovation. However we need to proceed with caution and understand not just the immense opportunities, but also the potential risks.

11:30 - 12:15 A look Inside the Lab: the Weird and Wonderful World of Unexpected Results | Joe Mango, Creative Technologist at MediaMonks

The beauty of research is stumbling upon unexpected results — and seeing where they can lead you. We might’ve missed out on the slinky if it wasn’t for a fortuitous mishap in a naval engineers research. Using and abusing emerging tech to stretch the boundaries of what’s possible can return funny, insightful, and often times just plain weird results. In this talk, Joe opens the doors to the lab to show which cutting-edge technologies will change the creative industries, and how emerging technologies can add value to a wide variety of industries.

The field of Creative Technology is one that is in a state of constant change. This talk will break down some of the ways in which creative tech is currently creating new types of work within the VFX industry.Kevin Young is Head of Creative Technology at The Mill London where he has built a diverse team that can confidently approach a wide range of tech related projects. He specialises in designing and building immersiv experiences.

Our guest speakers will focus on the wealth of changes taking place in the creative industries and how these elements are diversifying and changing to adapt to the future.
