Meet the course leaders
At the age of 24 Alexandra found herself employed as the Head of Training and Development for a Foreign Exchange Company in The City. After experiencing her very own quarter-life crisis, she decided to leave the corporate world and create her own definition of success. A blog that started off as a hobby soon turned into a following that turned into a business, naming her as a LinkedIn Top Voice UK. She now helps individuals and businesses grow their presence on LinkedIn, helping them find their sense of purpose and tell their own stories. By doing that herself she’s attracted work from brands such as Shell, Deloitte, Dyson, Microsoft, BP, Institute of Directors and Fiverr.
Tracey has a strong commercial background having held senior corporate roles in sales and marketing for Cadbury. Tracey took time out from her commercial career to study art and coaching. She now combines her commercial and creative expertise to design, project-manage and deliver programmes in leadership, team and organisational development across a varied range of businesses and sectors. Tracey has highly developed entrepreneurial skills that she has used to build brands and deliver purpose led projects.
From taking this course, you will have built your entrepreneurial skills, learnt from experienced entrepreneurs and like-minded self-starters and grown your professional network. You will leave equipped with:
A clear business plan with actions.
A product launch event hosted at Pearson College London’s campus and online.
A social media and PR campaign plan for your business.
The course will be delivered online through live sessions. WhatsApp communications will be used for the delivery of feedback by the tutors and the exchange of ideas with the rest of the cohort. You will also have to work in teams outside of live sessions. The overall workload for the course will be approximately 15 hours per week.
The course will be supported by cohort-based learning (CBL).
CBL has been described as the next evolution in online learning. Whereas traditional online learning takes place individually, and therefore can often be a lonely learning experience, CBL facilitates people learning as part of a micro community, where there is social accountability to complete tasks and learning on a weekly basis. Activities during the course include a blend of synchronous group sessions, asynchronous study resources, weekly group work to build up the artefact(s) from the course and regular peer and tutor feedback on the group work.
The aim of the course is for you to develop and launch your business idea and to present it at the end-of-course launch event. Each week, all students will be given assignments to work on for the next week, based on a specific theme or learning outcome. Students will be split into small groups for the duration of the course which they can ask for support on their weekly assignments.
Payment: If your application to the course is successful, a £200 deposit will be required to confirm your place. There will then be a possibility to pay the remainder of the course fees in two instalments.
