Apprenticeship Levy

Navigating the Apprenticeship Levy

Are you confident that you are maximising your return on your talent development?

At Pearson College London, our unique formula of developing and delivering programmes in partnership with industry, academics and learners, ensures training which delivers tangible results.

What is the levy?

The Apprenticeship levy is part of a government plan to increase the quantity and quality of Apprenticeships. The levy aims to fund three million new Apprenticeships in England by 2020.

As an employer, you’ll have to pay Apprenticeship Levy every month from 6 April 2017 if you:

  • have an annual pay bill of more than £3 million
  • are connected to other companies or charities for Employment Allowance which in total have an annual pay bill of more than £3 million

Whether you’re a large company subject to the Levy, or an SME which could benefit from the revenue it generates, the new Apprenticeship Levy should be seen as an opportunity to help your business.

As an official government apprenticeship training provider and as part of the world’s leading education company, we have developed apprenticeship programmes that turn the levy (whether the 0.5% debit to your payroll if you’re subject to it or the 90% credit through the training subsidy if you’re an SME) into an opportunity for your company by helping you to recruit, develop and retain talent.
