Scholarship for Game Art undergraduates

Ian Livingstone, CBE, (one of the founding fathers of the UK games industry) is offering a full fee scholarship to a talented student to help them realise their dreams of working in the games industry. If you’re passionate about game art this scholarship will help you fund your studies at Escape Studios and launch your career in the creative industries.

Ian Livingstone is best known for being the man behind huge franchises such as Tomb Raider and tabletop game Warhammer. He co-founded the iconic games company Games Workshop, co-created Fighting Fantasy (the gamebook series which has sold over 17 million copies), designed Eureka (the first computer game published by Domark in 1984), co-authored the Next Gen review (spearheading a campaign that led to the introduction of the new computing curriculum in schools) and is Chairman of Playdemic, Midoki, PlayMob and Sumo Digital. In 2002, he won the BAFTA Interactive Special Award for outstanding contribution to the industry and was appointed CBE in the 2013 New Year Honours list.

The scholarship

The recipient will receive their tuition fees paid in full for the duration of their programme (up to four years).

The Scholarship is only open to students who apply for the BA/MArt (Hons) The Art of Video Games degree taught at Escape Studios, part of Pearson College London. Students can apply for the three-year programme or the four-year integrated masters.

One candidate will be selected based on their performance at the Creative Workshop including creative portfolio, interview and taking part in group tasks.
