Additional learning needs
We're committed to equality of opportunity and encourage applications from as diverse range of applicants as possible. We comply with the Equality Act 2010 and the amendments to the Act.
When you're offered a place to study here, we'll invite you to discuss any additional needs and support you may need to complete your course, with a dedicated member of our team. Additional learning needs can arise from a range of conditions including:
- Specific learning difficulties such as Dyslexia or Dyspraxia
- Mental health conditions
- Sensory or physical disabilities
- Chronic or acute medical conditions
Please feel free to get in touch with us to discuss your needs, even if your condition falls outside the categories above.
To find out more or ask a question please call us on 0203 441 1303 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Additional learning support
If appropriate, we’ll provide you with additional learning support throughout your studies. For example, we can help you by:
- Providing mechanical or electronic aids
- Modifying the way your learning materials are presented
- Giving you alternative ways of completing learning activities
- Providing access facilitators
Special exam arrangements
If your condition puts you at a significant disadvantage in an assessment situation, we can help by making special exam arrangements for you. These may include giving you extra writing time or rest breaks, providing you with mechanical or electronic aids such as a computer or other reasonable adjustments, depending on your condition.
The Disabled Student Allowance (DSA) is available to fund additional support for full-time and part-time disabled students. It’s available in addition to other grants and loans and doesn’t have to be repaid. Find out more on the gov.uk website.
