Learning support

Find out the many ways we help you learn at Pearson College London.

Technology enhanced learning

We use technology to give you a flexible and personalised learning experience. After all, we know our students lead busy lives and we aim to help you make the most of every moment.

If you’re a business student, you’ll be able to access all your learning materials online, giving you the flexibility to study wherever and whenever you want to, on your laptop, tablet or even your phone.

Similarly, our creative industries students have access to bespoke workstations featuring the latest software on high-spec hardware, and they learn in creative labs emulating real-world production facilities.

Whichever course you choose, you’ll learn in a state-of-the-art environment, while getting an authentic taste of real-life workplaces.

Online Learning Environment (OLE)

On our Online Learning Environment you’ll discover a range of high quality study materials designed to support your learning, together with useful resources including news and announcements, timetables (which can be integrated into your Google Calendar), technical support and helpful guidance. Some of your classes may be taught online too, and you’ll take part through our Online Learning Environment. You’ll have access to the same academic support you would face-to-face and you’ll be able to join in discussions, collaborate with your fellow students and work in groups online.

Free learning materials

We’ll provide you with all your core-reading materials as part and parcel of your degree, so you won’t need to spend money on textbooks. Best of all, because we’re part of Pearson, the world’s leading publisher of university textbooks, you’ll get the best resources out there, written by authors who are leaders in their field. The materials you’ll need for each topic are included in your online learning modules, so you’ll know exactly what to read to prepare for each one.

Our online library

You’ll have full access to our online library 24/7, including thousands of ejournals and over 400,000 ebooks! Our students also currently have access to Birkbeck University Library. The library is located a short walk from 190 High Holborn on Malet Street.

All lectures are recorded, so as well as attending them in person, you can watch them again and again, until you feel confident you’ve got the most from them and fully understood difficult topics. It also makes it easy to recap on what you’ve learnt before assessments. We webcast them live over the internet too, so if you can’t make it to class, you can watch them from home through our Online Learning Environment, rather than miss the opportunity.

Modes of study

It's not just what you study, its how. That’s why we’ve put a lot of thought into making sure our degrees fit around you and your other commitments and interests. With us, you can choose to study full-time or part-time, it’s entirely up to you.

Our students enjoy small classes and a very personal approach. We treat each student as an individual and the amount of time students get with their personal tutor ensures that strong relationships are built. We take time to get to know you and that helps ensure that with us your study, career and personal goals are achieved.

How you'll learn

Our full-time students enjoy high contact hours and this matched with the small classes ensures a vibrant and personal experience where all viewpoints are heard and relationships thrive easily.

Our part-time students flourish in the flexible approach of the course and say it makes study more fulfilling, as it helps them manage their time more easily. Best of all, it means you can learn with us and carry on working at the same time, even if you’ve got a full-time job.
