Studying in London

Studying for a degree takes dedication and hard work but we also want you to have lots of fun. Our amazing location in the heart of central London means you’ll benefit from being a student in what many call the greatest city on earth.

London is home to an estimated 350,000 students at any one time, so you’ll be part of a huge student community too, never short of people to meet or things to do. We don’t have a traditional campus, we have the whole of London and all it has to offer. Below are some of our main teaching venues, but you’ll also visit the workplaces of our industry partners and learn at their headquarters. That means you’ll experience a range of different environments, from traditional academic settings to small start-ups and large corporates.

Where you'll study

All of our locations are well connected to the rest of London by tube. Holborn and Covent Garden tube stations are around five minutes walk from 190 High Holborn. And for Escape students, Shepherds Bush has an overground and an underground station just moment away. Alternatively, both locations are on countless bus routes if you’d prefer to travel above ground, and have bike storage facilities and nearby docking stations for ‘Boris bikes’ – Barclays’ London-wide cycle hire scheme.

After lectures…

When you finish for the day, you’ll be just minutes from the famous West End, if you want to snap up late deals for some of the world’s most famous musicals, plays and comedy shows. Covent Garden is on your doorstep and Oxford Street a few stops on the tube, so you’ll also have loads of fantastic shops, restaurants and cafes to explore. Best of all, you’ll be able to get student discounts in lots of places, with your NUS Extra card.

Living in London

Whether you live in halls, private accommodation, or outside London, you’ll get the best of London life. Our students live in all kinds of places, depending on their personal circumstances and where they want to be.

Halls of residence

Most of our first year students choose to live in one of our recommended halls of residence. For Pearson Business School students, we recommend accomodation based in either in Tufnell Park, near lively Camden, or Tower Bridge just a short walk from the Tower of London. For students studying at Escape Studios, we recommend halls in Notting Hill close to the exciting area of Portobello Road or in Wembley. You’ll get a chance to live with your fellow students, and students from universities across London, giving you lots of social opportunities. You’ll also benefit from great on-site facilities and security, and having all your utility bills included in your rent.

Private accommodation

After a year in halls, most students choose to live in privately rented houses and flats. There’s no shortage of great places to live in London, with arty East London, cosmopolitan North London and leafy Clapham in the South, all a short journey away from where you’ll study.

Commuting

Some of our students choose to live outside London and commute by train instead. All of our teaching locations are based in central London and have tube stations a five-minute walk away, so commuting daily is definitely doable.v
