What course did you study?

Business Management BA Hons, graduated in 2019 (RDA programme) 

How did studying at Pearson College London help you get into the world of business?

Pearson College London helped me into the world of business through the Rotational Degree apprenticeship (RDA).This allowed me exposure to subcomponents which were part of the RDA programme which became very useful. It was a period whereby I had a broad diverse set of experiences with global 100 FTSE companies, such as Unilever, Tesco and IBM, working with different teams and different projects. Pearson College London’s tutors were very useful when it came to teaching us as they all had industry knowledge which they used and taught us in a way that would be useful and assist us in the practical world.  

Where have you gone on to work and what is your role?

I have gone onto work as a Client Manager at IBM in the distribution sector. I am also a part-time football scout and Liverpool Football Club.  

What are you working on at the moment?

At IBM, I am currently working on Global consumer products with retail companies and logistics, finding innovative technical solutions to help solve their problems and meet their strategic objectives. 

At Liverpool football club I am identifying, mentoring and recruiting young elite talent from South of England and Europe. 

What do you enjoy most about working for IBM?

I get to be involved in a variety of activities. I enjoy the variety of my role as, not to be cliche but, no day is ever the same.  

What lessons have you learnt during your time studying and your time working in business?

Time management, multi-tasking and being able to juggle a lot of things. Being able to work 4 days a week with university and scouting on the weekends. 

What was your favourite part of studying at Pearson College London?

My favourite part at Pearson College London was the seminars and tutors. The tutors are always willing to support and guide us. We always had a lot of accessibility with the lecturers which you wouldn’t always get at traditional universities.  

If you had to sum up your time at Pearson College London in one word, what would it be and why?

Grateful. The opportunities that were given to us and I came across while studying at Pearson College London, the accessibility of lecturers and the networks that I was able to make between students and tutors.   

What advice would you give to students looking to start a career within the business industry?

Don’t wait for opportunities to come to you, go out there and seek the opportunities. Google is your best friend. There are many opportunities that are available in your reach!  

What's your favourite brand and why?

Google - The fact they are massive innovators. They are hot on new tech and finding new ways of doing things and finding out ways to make experiences better.
