Patrick Jack, Goldman Sachs graduate Analyst
Many new graduates, each year, dream of landing a role working for Goldman Sachs. Patrick Jack, a recent Pearson Business School graduate, will realise that dream this summer, when he starts at Goldman Sachs as a financial analyst, based in the Company’s London headquarters.
Whilst studying at Pearson Business School, Patrick gained experience at Goldman Sachs through two internships at the leading global investment banking, securities and investment management firm; “my internships were crucial, to help me gain experience, ahead of graduating”, he recalls. Patrick’s eagerness to learn and gain new skills at Goldman Sachs helped him throughout his internships and it further encouraged him to pursue a full-time role, after graduation.
We caught up with Patrick, to ask him more about his new role and his experience of studying at Pearson Business School:
What will your new role be?
I’ll be working at Goldman Sachs, in the role of Pan-European Equity Sales (selling European companies to hedge funds). The role involves understanding the largest companies around Europe and making a decision on whether their share price shall move up or down.
What are you most looking forward to in your new role?
I am most looking forward to understanding how economies work and how the companies/products we use on a day to day basis are structured and the issues they encounter. Globalisation has meant that events in China and Brazil have a direct effect on product supply in England and understanding this relationship is something I am looking forward to.
What was your favourite part of studying at Pearson College London?
The great facilities at the campus in Holborn.
If you had to sum up your time at Pearson College London in one word, what would it be and why?
‘Influential’ - it gave me the opportunity to pursue my interests and understand my strengths and weaknesses, whilst giving me direction on how to work on them.
What's your favourite brand and why?
Red Bull – who doesn’t like a brand which sponsors the coolest events in the world!!
What course did you study?
