Sophie Preece, IBM Business Consulting Graduate Scheme
What course did you study?
How did studying at Pearson College London help you get into the world of business?
Industry days, career events and talks, studying in a corporate environment as well as the nature of the course assignments have provided me with an all-round experience of understanding the business world better. This is as well as developing multiple skills such as report writing, presenting and time management which are all transferable into the business world.
Where have you gone on to work and what will your role be?
I have been fortunate enough to join IBM on their Business Consulting Graduate Scheme starting at the end of August 2017. We will have a 3 week induction where we will find out what roles we've been allocated. I will be based in the Southbank office so just across the river from Pearson on the Strand.
What was your favourite part of studying at Pearson College London?
I have really appreciated the small class sizes and therefore having the lectures and seminars more interactive to encourage effective learning. The ability to easily approach lecturers and ask questions has been hugely helpful as well! This also helped to build this personal learning experience.
If you had to sum up your time at Pearson College London in one word, what would it be and why?
From the time I applied to leaving Pearson College London 3 years later I have felt like the staff have wanted to know me as a person and genuinely cared for my development and progression into the world of work. The staff and students have provided opportunities and events that have encouraged and challenged me but also opened up my eyes to alternative opportunities I may not have previously considered or I didn't know much about.
What's your favourite brand and why?
Naturally active beauty and skin care products. I love the fact that all products contain natural ingredients are responsibly sourced and actually work!
