Dr Newell focuses on delivery of quantitative and qualitative research lectures and seminars. Prior to his arrival at Pearson College London, he led seminars on Strategic Marketing Management, International & Global Marketing, International Marketing & Operations, as well as Marketing Communications Theory & Practice at the Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU) School of Business. Dr Newell also worked as a Research Manager within the Research and Learning Group at the BBC World Service Trust managing a research portfolio focusing on Governance and Transparency issues in Africa.
Prior to his arrival in the UK, Dr. Newell he served as the Senior Research Analyst for Institutional Research at Kaplan Virtual Education and Miami Dade College. Earlier in his career he served as Director of Research Services fort the FIU Metropolitan Centre and a visiting instructor at the FIU School of Policy and Management – all in the USA.
He also has a broad professional background reflected in his research areas of specialisation which include program evaluations, housing, organizational performance measurement, and economic development.
Dr Newell is passionate about learning and brings to Pearson over 20 years of experience in instruction delivery to students from diverse cultural, academic, and professional backgrounds. He earned his BA from Emory University, and his MSc/MPA and PhD from the FIU – Graduate School of Policy and Management.
