David Atkinson, Business School Tutor
David leads lectures and seminars for our marketing modules. He has been a senior lecturer in marketing since 2009 and has helped to design and deliver a range of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. He’s been involved in a number of consultancy projects, as a result of his academic research on dynamic capabilities. David comes from an industry background and his experience ranges from product development and market penetration, through to customer acquisition, retention strategies and managing relationships with suppliers.
He’s held a number of roles, including Strategic Marketing Director for an IT-managed services company. David has a PhD from Manchester Metropolitan University, a Diploma in Direct & Interactive Marketing from the Institute of Direct Marketing and an MSc by research in Strategic Management. He holds Chartered Marketer status and is a full member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM). He’s also a senior examiner for the CIM’s Level 7 Analysis and Decision module.
