Jay Naik, Business School Tutor
Jay started his career working for Professional Chartered Accountancy firms (8 years) as a senior manager covering all aspects of audit, accounts and tax for sole traders, trusts, solicitors, partnerships, charities, clubs, private companies (including manufacturing companies), public companies, stockbrokers etc. involving all aspects of audit, accounts and tax.
Jay has conducted many ad-hoc assignments e.g. Forensic Accounting, Fraud investigations, Stock Exchange Floatation, Company Valuation etc. Jay then moved to British Telecommunication (BT) PLC as Group Reporting Manager (25 years), where his was responsible for the delivery of BT’s Annual Regulatory Financial Statements, BT’s Financial Statements, Management Accounts and Product Reports. During this period, Jay was responsible for a business start up (Finance Director) and worked for Not for Profit Organisations as a senior manager.
Since leaving BT PLC, Jay is now working as a consultant and senior lecturer for The Open University, The London Metropolitan University, the Institute of Chartered Secretaries (ICSA) and Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA). Jay has taught courses at undergraduate, post graduate and professional level. Jay’s speciality subjects include Business Strategy; Finance - Corporate Finance, Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Taxation; Regulation (Banking, Insurance, Telecommunications & Finance Sector) covering European Union Law, Company Law, Business Law; Organisational Behaviour; Corporate Governance, Business Ethics & Corporate Social Responsibility; Marketing – Traditional, Customer Service, Service Marketing, Customer Relationship Management (CRM), International Marketing, Social Media & eCommerce; Entrepreneurship, Business Development, Creativity and Innovation; Economics – UK, European Union and Global; Research Methods; Leadership and Management; CIMA and ICSA Professional Level courses.Jay qualifications include Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCert); M A in Marketing; MBA (2002); A.C.A / A.C.C.A (PQ); B.Sc (Chemistry).
