Salesforce BizAcademy Workshop

Bizacademy at 80 strand

Salesforce's new youth development programme comes to Pearson College.

On the 23rd October 2014 Pearson College hosted BizAcademy – a development programme initiated by the Salesforce Foundation. Every year, Salesforce open up BizAcademy to youth from under-resourced low-income communities in London and we were delighted to welcome the group to our offices at 80 Strand.

The group of 18, aged between 16 and 22, took part in a day of workshops aimed at developing their communication and presentation skills. Colleagues from Pearson College and Pearson UK worked with the group on a number of interactive sessions including a talk from Tim Williams, Vice President HR and Technology, on employability skills and a marketing workshop where the group had to develop marketing strategies for a household product and present their ideas to a panel.

The day was part of a weeklong BizAcademy programme where young people get the opportunity to join corporate companies to get hands-on experience and business insight. Close to 200 BizAcademy graduates have participated in the programme around the world and Salesforce help place students into apprenticeship schemes at the end of each programme. We were proud to be part of this inspiring event and look forward to hosting it again next year.
