Business School Induction 2015

Business School Induction 2015

A warm welcome!

Business School Induction: 25th September – 26th September 2015

We opened our doors to our new cohort of students last weekend, all of whom were excited and ready to start their new adventure at the heart of the city!

The schedule for their first day included an introduction to PCSA (Pearson College London Student Association) and the newly elected members spoke about their roles and how to get involved!

Students were also given a heads up of what to expect in Fresher’s Week; from ping pong to private film screenings, the students have alot to look forward to! Next up was an opportunity for students to gain insight into the wider Pearson with informative talks from Pearson staff members whom work in Marketing and Corporate Affairs, giving students a real insight into the world of work from day one.

Of course this would not be a Business School Induction if there was not some sort of networking involved! The students had a flavour of this through their networking workshop where they learnt the skills which they then put into practise by networking with fellow students over coffee – the student who collected the most business cards at the end was our winner!

Next up was the Employability workshop which gave the students an opportunity to show off different skills such as leadership, time management and delegation to name but a few! The students ended their day with a well-deserved Champagne reception and a warm welcome from Roxanne, our Principal before boarding a boat for the exclusive boat party on the Thames!

The last day of our Induction saw the students embark on a whistle-stop tour of our key venues; One90, CIA and Birkbeck. This was followed by an overview of the talent development process here at Pearson College London which was nicely accompanied by a visit from two of our Business School Alumni, Ed Riddle and Sam Applebee. Ed and Sam spoke about the culture and history of Pearson College London and also shared their experiences of studying here.

The day came to a close when we were joined by Marian Cramers, Strategic Partnership Manager at Crimson Hexagon, a social media analytics company. Marian spoke about her role and experience, giving students some great insight and advice for the future.

We hope all our new students enjoyed their introduction to life here at Pearson College London and wish them well as they embark on their
studies with us!
