Today was a brilliant day, myself and a number of Pearson College Students along with IBM Interns had the opportunity to work alongside executive members of IBM to come up with innovative idea's to drive IBM Watson forward.
IBM has always been a company which I look up to and having the chance to meet the CEO - David Stokes was a dream come true. The day started with some coffee which was well needed after my morning rush hour commute! Further to this our first talk was from David, giving us an insight to the company and their innovative idea's as a whole. Our second talk was from Rod Bristow - President of Core Markets at Pearson PLC and third was a talk from Duncan Anderson - a speaker for Watson, I found this highly interesting as he discussed IBM Watson and what it means for business.
After a great lunch we were assigned into 5 groups, within these groups we divided up into 3 groups of 5. Starting with an exercise which was both humorous and difficult we then sat down to talk about how Watson can be implemented to future projects. 5 groups were voted and picked to present these to the IBM Judges and I have to say the idea's and presentation skills from both the Pearson College Students and the IBMers were brilliant.
To finish off my exciting day I was picked along with the winning team and 4 other students to attend the IBM Innovation Centre In Hursley! I would like to send out a great big thank-you to all the IBM Staff and Pearson College staff who put this event together and I look forward to introducing some of my own idea's to IBM in the near future.
