With over 25% of students likely to be affected by mental health issues during their time at university, you would think that more people would speak out about needing help; but the negative stigma is still stopping students understanding different mental health issues.
Bake Sale for Bipolar UK. With the support from my family, friends and lecturers I managed to raise over £340 by selling homemade cakes at the Pearson High Holborn site. Not only will the money make a huge difference to the charity, but with the amount of people who asked what bipolar actually was, I hope to have made even a small difference in educating about this illness. The 9 hours of cake making was definitely worth it. Visit link to my donation page.
Bar Quiz for Student Minds
Thanks to the support of the PCSA, we managed to pull off another successful charity event to support Student Minds, a charity dedicated to reducing the stigma of mental health issues specifically for university students, and supporting them through the transition from college.
The quiz included a round of mental health questions, which raised some eyebrows when the answers were unveiled. For such a small charity, the £100 we raised will make a huge difference.
