Pearson College London’s innovative Rotational Degree Apprenticeship is going international

Pearson Plc

Pearson College London launched the UK’s first Rotational Degree Apprenticeship in 2016, and it’s now expanding internationally. This brand new International Degree Apprenticeship not only gives students the chance to work for and study in a FTSE100 Company, it also gives them international experience through three placements across Pearson Plc in three different countries.

Students will gain invaluable experience as they learn within a company on a global scale, putting into practice everything they learn in the classroom across different departments and exposure to different cultures.

Student-apprentices will be paid a salary of £19,890 per annum, with time off for study.  They’ll also graduate debt-free, as their tuition fees will be paid for by Pearson Plc.

Pearson Plc are recruiting for three passionate and driven students to join them at their Head Office in Holborn, London in the Marketing, Business Development and Student Experience teams. Students will study for 3 years with Pearson in London with 3 x 1 month summer placements in 3 different countries. The countries the students can choose from are; New Jersey, Melbourne, Hong Kong, New Delhi, Dubai and Manilla. Accommodation and travel costs to be covered by Pearson for the three placements.

Degree Apprenticeships are a growing and developing part of Higher Education and part of the future at Pearson Business School. The International Rotational Degree Apprenticeship expands on the hugely successful portfolio of Degree Apprenticeships delivered by Pearson Business School, including the Rotational Degree Apprenticeship, L’Oreal Degree Apprenticeship, Mondelez Degree Apprenticeship, Moorfields Eye Hospital Degree Apprenticeship, BBC Degree Apprenticeship, Red Carnation Hotel Degree Apprenticeship and the Pearson Degree Apprenticeship.

Pearson College London’s Principal, Roxanne Stockwell said:

“We have launched this degree because more and more employers are telling us that their graduates are lacking in the skills needed to succeed in the world of work. 89% of employers surveyed said that they value graduate hires with the right attitudes and aptitude for work, this innovative course hopes to address the balance between traditional academia and the needs of 21st century employers.”

Will Holt, Dean of Pearson Business School said:

“This is a unique opportunity to really gain truly global professional experience by rotating across a FTSE 100 company whilst studying our business management degree. The international element to this degree apprenticeship programme will stand successful candidates in good stead for the rest of their careers.”

Applications for International Rotational Degree programme close on Friday 31st August 2018. The application window is now open and you can find details at pearsoncollegelondon.ac.uk/internationalRDA

About Pearson Business School

Education powered by industry experience.

We're transforming higher education. As a FTSE 100 company, immersed in industry, we do things differently. Industry engagement is at the core of everything that we do, and it’s what sets us apart.

We offer all full-time degree students guaranteed internships*, so they gain experience during their studies. Our degree apprentices also get to work within a company throughout their studies, so they gain valuable experience, learning on the job. We help our students to build their own professional networks; they’re taught by well-connected industry experts, and they get to make contacts at industry workshops led by some of the world’s most reputable organisations.  We work with industry giants from Unilever, L’Oréal, and Sony Pictures, to WPP, Lloyds of London and IBM. Alongside their academic studies, it’s the experiences like these that help our students to develop the knowledge and skills they’ll need to succeed, as well as inspire them, so they have the drive and ambition to get ahead.

Our students are enterprising and entrepreneurial. They get to work with our in-house business incubator The Access Platform, and many have set up their own companies too, like Kickpush and Yaantu and even social enterprises like Once Upon a Doug.

Our alumni have gone on to work for brands such as Nestlé, Sainsbury’s, Microsoft, Dyson, Not on the High Street, the BBC, Snapchat, Wincanton and General Mills.

Industry engagement drives us; it’s not just what we do, it’s who we are. And it is what will take us, and our students, into the future.
