Go global with Pearson Business School

Pearson Business School offers subsidised study placements in Brazil or Italy as part of its degree programmes.

Pearson Business School is launching a range of new bursaries starting with some exciting international study placements. We strongly believe in facilitating international cultural experiences at Pearson College London and there is no better way to stand out to future employers than gaining some international experience early on during your degree programme.

There are 10 places available for a 3 week international study placement, including industry visits. Students can choose to study in either Brazil or Italy to gain international experience to add to their CVs.

This programme, run through one of our international partner organisations International Business School of the Americas, will be subsidised by Pearson College London and will consist of:

  • A 3 week study trip to Brazil or Italy in July 2020 (at the end of the first year)
  • Pearson College London will pay for return flights, hotel accommodation and for the programme itself at a university in either Sao Paulo, Brazil or Alta Villa Vincenta in Italy
  • Students will take part in classes, activities and industry visits in the country they visit
  • Everything will be planned so students can make the most of the trip; learn new skills, be taught by expert tutors, gain international experience, understand a new culture, have fun with your classmates and have an incredible experience.

Successful applicants will be selected over a two-stage process:

Stage 1: Attend a Professional Workshop in London by 1st May 2019. Successfully completing this first stage also means students will be able to attend the Discovery Day and be considered for one of the 10 places available. By passing a Professional Workshop, students will also be awarded a partial fee waiver - saving thousands of pounds on the cost of your degree at Pearson College London.

Final stage for applicants: Discovery Day in London in early July 2019. If students pass stage 1 they will be invited to the final stage of the process to take part in a one day project to help solve a real international business issue that Pearson plc face.

About Pearson Business School

Education powered by industry experience. We're transforming higher education.

As a FTSE 100 company, immersed in industry, we do things differently. Industry engagement is at the core of everything that we do, and it’s what sets us apart.

We offer all full-time degree students guaranteed internships*, so they gain experience during their studies. Our degree apprentices also get to work within a company throughout their studies, so they gain valuable experience, learning on the job. We help our students to build their own professional networks; they’re taught by well-connected industry experts, and they get to make contacts at industry workshops led by some of the world’s most reputable organisations.  We work with industry giants from Unilever, L’Oréal, and Sony Pictures, to WPP, Lloyds of London and IBM. Alongside their academic studies, it’s the experiences like these that help our students to develop the knowledge and skills they’ll need to succeed, as well as inspire them, so they have the drive and ambition to get ahead.

Our students are enterprising and entrepreneurial. They get to work with our in-house business incubator The Access Platform, and many have set up their own companies too, like Kickpush and Yaantu and even social enterprises like Once Upon a Doug.

Our alumni have gone on to work for brands such as Nestlé, Sainsbury’s, Microsoft, Dyson, Not on the High Street, the BBC, Snapchat, Wincanton and General Mills.

Industry engagement drives us; it’s not just what we do, it’s who we are. And it is what will take us, and our students, into the future.
