The Red Carnation Hotel Collection is recruiting for a second Degree Apprenticeship Scheme

Due to the success of the first Degree Apprenticeship scheme, the multi award-winning global hotel company has partnered with Pearson Business School for a second time.

This unique opportunity offers six enthusiastic and ambitious students the chance to learn and earn at a family-run, award-winning boutique global hotel chain.  The Red Carnation Hotel Group spans across 3 continents, in 7 countries and its 17 hotels include Hotel d'Angleterre in Geneva and The Milestone Hotel near Kensington Palace. This three-year Degree Apprenticeship is designed to give student-apprentices the experience of working for a leader in the hospitality sector, whilst studying for an Honours Degree at the same time.

Student-apprentices will be paid a salary of at least £18,000 per annum (increasing to £20,000 after 18 months), with time off for study.  They’ll also graduate debt-free, as their tuition fees will be paid for by The Red Carnation Hotel Group.

Based at one of the Group’s London hotels, participants will complete a three year Business Management Degree and build up their network of professional contacts at the same time.  Over 50% of study time will be dedicated to focusing on The Red Carnation Hotel Group, demonstrating how the degree apprenticeship route is beneficial for both the apprentice and the employer.

Degree Apprenticeships are a growing and developing part of Higher Education and part of the future at Pearson Business School. The Red Carnation Hotel Degree Apprenticeship expands on the hugely successful portfolio of Degree Apprenticeships delivered by Pearson Business School, including the Warburtons Degree Apprenticeship, Senior Leaders Management Degree Apprenticeship (Guy’s and St Thomas), Moët Degree Apprenticeship, L’Oreal Degree Apprenticeship, Rotational Degree Apprenticeship, BBC Degree Apprenticeship, Mondelez Degree Apprenticeship, International Rotational Degree Apprenticeship,  Millwall FC Degree Apprenticeship, Moorfields Degree Apprenticeship and the Pearson Degree Apprenticeship.

Will Holt, Dean of Pearson Business School, said:

“Tourism is the fastest growing sector of the UK economy, with 9.6% of working people employed in the industry. As the sector continues to grow we are thrilled to be partnering with The Red Carnation Hotel group to help them deliver unique degree apprenticeships that are designed with the needs of both the employer and the student in mind.”

Claire Golden, Director of Human Resources, The Red Carnation Hotel Group said:

“This is an exciting opportunity to attract people into the hospitality industry; to showcase the investment, training and career opportunities available within Red Carnation Hotels and make hospitality a career of choice.”

Applications for The Red Carnation Hotel Degree Apprenticeship programme close on Monday 24 June 2019.

About Pearson Business School

Education powered by industry experience. We're transforming higher education.

As a FTSE 100 company, immersed in industry, we do things differently. Industry engagement is at the core of everything that we do, and it’s what sets us apart.

We offer all full-time degree students guaranteed internships*, so they gain experience during their studies. Our degree apprentices also get to work within a company throughout their studies, so they gain valuable experience, learning on the job. We help our students to build their own professional networks; they’re taught by well-connected industry experts, and they get to make contacts at industry workshops led by some of the world’s most reputable organisations.  We work with industry giants from Unilever, L’Oréal, and Sony Pictures, to WPP, Lloyds of London and IBM. Alongside their academic studies, it’s the experiences like these that help our students to develop the knowledge and skills they’ll need to succeed, as well as inspire them, so they have the drive and ambition to get ahead.

Our students are enterprising and entrepreneurial. They get to work with our in-house business incubator The Access Platform, and many have set up their own companies too, like Kickpush and Yaantu and even social enterprises like Once Upon a Doug.

Our alumni have gone on to work for brands such as Nestlé, Sainsbury’s, Microsoft, Dyson, Not on the High Street, the BBC, Snapchat, Wincanton and General Mills.

Industry engagement drives us; it’s not just what we do, it’s who we are. And it is what will take us, and our students, into the future.
